Village Center

The village center consists of areas 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. The architecture will reflect the style of existing buildings at Hawk Pointe and the regional vernacular. Select details will introduce some modern styling to give the center a unique and contemporary feel. In the commercial and assisted living areas, the visual and aesthetic character is a very high priority. Hardscape, landscape and key site design elements, should be coordinated with existing building and site design so that primary building facades enliven a pedestrian-friendly environment and provide a visually coherent and attractive sense of place.

Efficiently moving vehicular traffic to and from the site, as well as within the area, will be important to the quality of life on site and nearby. Creating an efficient traffic network that is also friendly and accessible to pedestrians, carts and cyclists is a key objective. The village progressively utilizes green technology through the use of their solar array and self-contained water treatment plant.

Streetscape elements:

  • Continuity of buildings fronted by broad sidewalks
  • Bus stop for public transportation
  • Bicycle racks
  • Benches and seating
  • Trash receptacles
  • Street trees and landscaping
  • Planters and decorative elements
  • Street lighting and building lighting
  • Fountains, public art, kiosks
  • Automated transportation

The Village at Hawk Pointe transforms the total living experience through the use of technology such as biometrics, telehealth, home automation systems and intelligent transportation service. Smart homes offer the innovative era of high-tech benefits with all the features for the homeowner’s needs.

Biometrics is the measurement and analysis of people’s physical and behavioral characteristics. The technology is mainly used for identification and access control, or for identifying individuals which require medical supervision. The premise of biometric authentication is that everyone is unique and an individual can be identified by his or her intrinsic physical or behavioral traits.

Telehealth is a collection of means or methods for enhancing health care, public health, and health education delivery and support using telecommunications technologies. Telehealth encompasses a broad variety of technologies and tactics to deliver virtual medical, health, and education services.

Home Automation Systems will integrate HVAC, lighting, appliances and security with one another. These systems will be controlled through home automation which are connected to each computer network, letting homeowners control them remotely from their computers or mobile devices.

Intelligent Transportation Service will provide automated vehicles to move in and around all areas of The Village without direct driver input. Connectivity is an important component to realizing the full potential benefits and broad-scale implementation of automated vehicles.
